Holiday shopping

This weekend I'm off to Charleston, South Carolina with one of my oldest friends. I am so excited, I haven't been to the US for 3 years and I've missed it like crazy! I've also never been to the Deep South, although I've learned so much of its history so I can't wait to be there and see everything!

My friend's family are from there, and I imagine it to be quite a classy place so obviously I've been holiday shopping for ages. My summer clothes were few and far between anyway as I've only been abroad during the Summer once in the last few years to Paris.

I am such a huge fan of dresses but I never seem to wear the ones I buy and always end up in jeans. But I decided I'd have no excuse in SC because it will be too hot for anything else! These three are new to my wardrobe for my US trip and I love them all so much! I'm a huge fan of the current high neck and waist defining dresses because they are very flattering on me and I can pretend to be a Southern Belle! :)

When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane

Every time I get into a car I can't stop thinking about this scene from Clueless (from about 0.40)

I've just started having driving lessons, about 4 years too late. I really want to pass this Summer before I leave again for work, just as long as my driving test goes nothing like that! Even though I haven't really got the hang of it yet, I absolutely love it! Although I was a bit naive in thinking it wouldn't be as hard as it is.

I'll be off the road for 3 weeks while I'm in the US but I hope I don't forget it! I've been watching everyone's driving so closely recently, and already getting into arguments about the fact that I am learning differently to the way they drive! The current issue is that my instructor tries to have me with 1 hand on the wheel as often as possible, as you "don't need two to steer" - no one else seems to agree though! Please tell me someone else has heard of this technique!?

W.E.

I've been interested in the story of Wallace Simpson and Edward VIII for ages, I'm actually half way through reading this biography of her which is amazing.

I missed W.E in the cinema, and although it had awful reviews I was so desperate to see it, and last night I finally did! I am a fan of deep, unusual films, so I thought it was wonderful; it is however, anything but straight forward! It has an odd approach, comparing the life of a present day woman, but somehow it does work (although I'd have also loved it if it were all about the two of them).

It's really deep, definitely no fairytale story and although I don't usually find myself being so taken with this aspect of a film, the music was wonderful (in fact I have it on in the background now!) I'm going to be buying it as soon as it comes out on DVD!

Anyone for yoga?

I went through a gym phase in my last couple of months of uni, but now I'm at home I've been getting pretty lazy. At the start of July I'll be working part time in a sports centre, so I'll be able to use the gym there, but until then I didn't really know what to do.

I was installing some updates from the App store last night when I came across a free Yoga app (it's just called 'Yoga') that I downloaded. I gave it a try today and it's really great! I've never been to a yoga class before, so maybe advanced users would think it was rubbish, but for me it was a great introduction. I know it's not the most exerting activity to do, but I know about how good it is for you and it really is incredibly calming.

I'm being pretty slow on the uptake and I bet everyone is already very well practised at yoga so there's not much point in saying have a go, but I would really recommend this app, especially as it's free! I'm looking forward to tomorrow already so I can carry on with it!

It's quite clever, you can use their pre existing routines or make your own, and I think there are difficulty levels to choose. It even has a calendar that tells you when/how often you've had a work out! Search 'yoga' on the app store and you'll see it. It's icon is this:

I'm already considering downloading the full version for £6.99/$8.99!

Here I go...

Hey guys!
This is my first go in a while at a blog on here. For a while I was really active on Tumblr, my blog is still here, I just don't use it anymore.
I hadn't updated it for ages however, and I realised it was because I’d started to outgrow it. That blog represented a whole chapter of my life that I have so little remaining connection to now, and so I felt like a change, as well as a change of host.
On top of that, I wanted a new theme to be the focus of this. I’m going to be starting a full time graduate job in September, moving to a part of the country I’ve never been before completely on my own, and basically throwing myself in at the deep end in every aspect of life. I am so excited!! I thought it would be fun to share with you my new adventures (I’ll be relocating 4 times in the next 2 years!), and life in the first stages of being a new graduate.
Until then I’ll be posting about Summer, and the preparation for my next big move, so watch this space!
